The main reason I write poetry is because it is a great way to deal with the millions of thoughts bouncing around in my head every day. Writing poetry can make me feel better or even ease my boredom. I find that writing down how I feel in poems can alleviate my anxiety. There is so much uncertainty in the world that writing poems can be calming. Poetry also has no limits, so it feels like you can't go wrong with whatever you end up writing. When it comes to my work, I tend to be a perfectionist and with poems I don't have that problem because of the room for error. Writing poetry helps me feel creative and find ideas for other things that I would want to write about. I encourage everyone to try out writing a poem, you might end up liking what your brain comes up with.
