The buzz of summer

Heat is taking over but not like the cicadas

Swarming the trees and bushes

There are a million of them

It's ring is all that I can hear

Almost an eternity underground

Just to die a few days above

Your only crime was being too small to live in this cruel world

Bugs always get a bad reputation

They get squashed before their life begins.
