I Like Your Hair

I went to the grocery store today for the first time in awhile. First five minutes I am there a man says to me "I like your hair."

I hear this a lot.

My hair is red and some see it as a beautiful thing.

Others a warning sign.

A red flag.

The only response I ever have is "Thanks."

What else do I say?

It always catches me off guard.

I can't be invisible.

You can't hide who you are.
