Hearts

My heart beat for you.

Our hearts beat together,

side by side like a six string symphony.

You cared for my heart,

but then you reached into my chest and stole my heart.

I didn't even notice.

You were gentle with my heart because it mattered.

One day you stopped caring and threw my heart back at me.

All I could do was catch it.

Blood all over my hands and my broken but still beating heart crying out in pain.
