I know you can see me

Even though you act like I’m not there

I have scars

Marks left on my skin to remind me

A little girl with water filled eyes

Can you tell her what you did?

Begging to be seen, to be loved

I am like everyone else

More than six feet underground

Digging to get out

Trading my blade for a pen

I want to change my story

Slaying the serpent in my divine garden

Nothing lasts forever but the scars.
